This is Blogspot Old Interface in Year 2000 - The photo you see above is the screenshot of the Blogspot homepage taken on October 18, 2026. As far as we know, Blogspot is the hosting name for Google blogging service called "blogger".

During that time which is 26 years ago during the dot com boom when the internet still in early stage, not so many people know so much blogging or web blog.

Ths is what was being written in Blogspot homepage:

"BlogSpot is a free hosting service for Blogger™-powered blogs.

Blogger is the easy (non-tedious!) way to update your home page. Keeping a journal, what's new page, weblog, project page, or any other type of frequently updated web page with Blogger is as easy as typing in a form.

Blogger will publish to any web site, but if you don't already have one, BlogSpot makes it quick and easy to get started (and did we mention it's free?). Just fill in the form on the left. No really, do it!

If you'd like to get started using Blog*Spot, and want to see an in-depth overview on how to sign up and use it, see our visual tutorial.

If you'd like to see what other Blog*Spot blogs look like, take a look at the directory."

All they know is the internet as the source of free information. During that time to access the internet you have to open up internet from a bulky desktop computer.

The internet line during the early years was accessed using dial-up phone line, which basically means the device has to "call" the internet serves to initiate internet connection before you can open up a browser to start browsing the internet.

At first I was so curious why Google called their blogging service as "blogger" but put their server in "blogspot" domain name, why not put it in official blogger name such as "www.blogger.com" instead of "www.blogspot.con"

Well, overall it was all up to Google to decide.

Blogger blogging service was started by Pyra Labs as new web technology which is not yet overtaken by Google during that time.

Pyra Labs published Blogger publicly as free blogging service on Agust 1999. During that time, I was still studying in local university.

Somewhere during 2001, Pyra Labs introduced Blogger Pro, a paid subscription-based high end version of the free-version Blogger.

How Blogger Become So Popular In year 2000-2003

Personally, I started using Blogger blog service in an internet cafe back on year 2006. It was 3 years after Google bought Blogger web blogging service from Pyra Labs.

I created my first email using Yahoo Mail in year 1999. During that time to create a new email it takes about 30 minutes because you have to wait for the server to load up first.

From my own experience, Blogger blogging service was very easy to use compare to other free blogging service during that time such as TypePad, WordPress and LiveJournal.

Blogger become much popular because you can earn money from blogging activity in Blogspot using AdSense, which is online advertising platform by Google.

Google’s Blogger (originally created by Pyra Labs) skyrocketed in popularity between 2002 and 2004 because it removed the technical barriers to web publishing right as global demand for real-time,

The surge in popularity also was driven by three distinct phases: the pre-acquisition momentum of 2002, the massive catalyst of Google's acquisition in 2003, and the Web 2.0 monetization boom of 2004.

Before 2002, building a website required knowledge of HTML, FTP servers, and manual coding. Blogger changed this dynamic entirely.

You can create a blog for yourself for free withbout a need to pay for anything.

All you have to do is register for a Gmail account without any charge, then you can use that Gmail to open up a new Blogger account.

Google only allow Gmail to be used as the email to register for their Blogspot blog.

Google did not allow other email address to be used as registration email for their blogging platform. All because Blogspot fully owned by Google.

Personal Web Publishing Become Personal With Blogger Free Blogging Service

Blogger provided a simple browser text box and a "Publish" button.

Anyone who could type an email could now run a global website for free. As an internet user you can publish your blog posts from your email. Free and easy.

this is Blogspot homepage interface in 2003

Following 9/11 events and leading into the Iraq War, everyday citizens and experts grew frustrated with mainstream media filters. They turned to Blogger to publish immediate, firsthand, and alternative political commentary.

2002 saw the birth of grassroots web culture, including the rise of the first tech, design, and "mommy bloggers" who built highly engaged communities using Blogger's dynamic RSS feeds.

In 2004, Google deeply integrated Google AdSense into Blogger. For the first time, regular people could monetize their hobbies and make real money online simply by writing.

Bloggers quickly noticed that Blogger sites ranked incredibly well on Google. Blogger natively exported structured RSS feeds, which Google's search spiders could crawl and index faster than traditional websites.

During that time, social media such as Facebook as Twitter was not popular yet just like today in June 2026 at the time I wrote this blog post. So, all internet users prefer  blogs and websites to search for latest news and latest info.

How To Change Gmail Address Name Without Creating New Google Account

How To Change Gmail Address Name Without Creating New Google Account in 2026 - I personally able to change old Gmail email address from old address I creared back on March 2006 to a new Gmail email address in May 2026 without creating new Google account.

However, to change Gmail emai adress to new Gmail email address without creating new account has 3 condition, here's are all the conditions:

Condition 1: Make sure your old Gmail email adress still active and still in use. You can use in as default account in your Android device, in your Android smartphone, in your Android tablet or in your ChromeBook laptop. Just make sure you always logged in frequently.

Condition 2: Make sure your Gmail account not full storage. Why? Because of your Gmail storage is full you cant change your Gmail address to new email adress without creating new Gmail account.

Condition 3: Not all Gmail email users has option changing their Gmail email adress to another new adress in same account. Lucky for me, I am able to do that. Google gave me option to change my primary Gmai address name to a new name.

Next, go to Google account menu,

select manage your Google Account option

select Personal Info menu

select Email column

When you arrive in Email, you will see a title "Manage the email addresses associated with your Google Account."

If Google allowed you to change email, you will see a button with blue border title "change Google Account email". Please press that button.

Think of the new name for your new Gmail email address name. After that, press "save" button to keep all the changes you've dont to your Gmail adreess name.

After the new name you choose is available you can change to it immediately.

After you've successfully able to change Gmail adress name to a new name, you will get email from Google notifiying you about the new changes made in your Gmail adress name.

Really? Yahoo Mail 20gb

Yahoo Mail interface

Yahoo Mail 20gb Compared To Gmail 15gb - Do you still use Yahoo Mail? For me, yes I still use my Yahoo Mail, a free email service since 1999. Okay here's some fact. Yahoo Mail is a free email service started back on October 8, 1997. Until May 2026 at the time I wrote this, it was about 28 years ago.

Back on year 1999 at that time, Google Mail or Gmail is not well known widely especially in south east Asia countries such as Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia.

Every time we open up internet browser, the first thing that come to our mind is to check email, which is Yahoo Mail.

Today in May 2026 i still use my Yahoo Mail actively.

What's New With Yahoo Mail In 2026

In May 2026, I found out that Yahoo Mail is giving free storage of 20gb to their users - either you are an old user like me a new user that just signed up for new Yahoo Mail.

This is a very good news. Lets juts hope Yahoo keep that free 20gb storage for it's user for many years to come. But, I found out that 20gb is for Yahoo Mail inbox alone, not for the overall usage.

Yahoo does not has cloud storage service just like Google Drive, Microsoft One Drive of Mega.nz cloud drive. So all that 20gb free storage all goes for storing up your email contents.

Yahoo Mail in May 2026 version is now has dark mode. For me, I always open up my Yahoo Mail in my mobile browser. Easy to read and log out then move to the next thing for the day.

Previously, I install Yahoo Mail app in my android smartphone but I found it was vey hard to log out after you done reading up all the incoming emails.

Yahoo Web Portal In 2026

Yahoo deleted their free web building service called Yahoo GeoCities which I used to learn more about website building and website design. After that, somewhere in 2007,

Yahoo created a web-based service called Yahoo 360, a note web application inside browser where you can keep all the notes.

But, to use Yahoo 360 you need to log-in. Back on 2005 you can acess Yahoo 360 dashboard from Yahoo Mail home interface.

Yahoo 360 works similar to Google Blogspot and Tumblr. You can publish a text as blog posts, upload and publish photos, keep up with updated from your friends and other Yahoo 360 users you followed.

Now in May 2026, there is no Yahoo Geocities and no more Yahoo 360, Yahoo in 2026 version is more to updates, latest news and latest information from around the world.

Yahoo online portal is now more to content portal. You can get latest info in popular topics such as recent news, life, finance, sports and entertainment.

Seems like they re-write and re-publish contents from other places then publish it as their own content.

This Is New 2026 Facebook Homepage Design

Facebook 2026 New Design

This Is New Facebook Homepage Design - Facebook is now introducing new design for their homepage in browser. If you open Facebook web in any normal web browser either from desktop browser or mobile browser, you will see the overall look of the new design as the image above.

This new design is only visible in normal desktop view in any browser, either mobile browser or traditional desktop browser.

If you are using mobile view browser you will not see the full new design such as the image above.

Personally, in real life, i use Facebook everyday to keep in touch with my friends and family. From my point of view, in 2026 Facebook try to make their social media technology as part of user's daily life from start to finish.

I think Facebook today (in May 2026) is not about social media anymore but a digital tool used by normal people eveyday to read news, to know latest info, to get latest happenings and to know other things and events that happened around them.

Sometime, as a normal person, if I feel boring, i will open Facebook Watch by clicking the "watch" icon in my Facebook app inside my smartphone, so I can watch reels and short videos related to my interest.

Why I Choose XP Meta AS Name For This Blog

this is the Digital Life blog

Why I Choose XP Meta AS Name For This Blog - Hello there. Welcome to my blog. The blog you are reading right now is simply a personal technology blog written in simple language so you can easily understand.

Here I will explain more about why I choose the word "Xp Meta" as the name for this blog.

I started this blog as a personal hobby on January 7th, 2026. I am a photographer and love to tell stories in my own way using my own voice.

All because I found out there not so many people that share stories of every usage of technology, i mean the usage of technology in personal way.

Some people having problem using every day tech like how to open up new email, how to register new TikTok accounts, also how to delete WeChat account. Sometime I personally stumbled upon a new features in online website and I love write stories about it to share the info I found with the rest of the world.

Why XP Meta

First of all, XP is from the word "experience".

Just like Windows XP. I first learn how to use computer using Windows 98, then continue to Windows NT, then continue to Windows 2000, then continue to Windows ME (Millenium Edition), then continue to learn more about how to use a computer in Windows XP operation system that was release by Microsoft back on November 2001 in local Malaysian market.

I first getting a hands-on experience of using a computer in year 2000 when typing an assignment using desktop pc powered by Windows XP operating system that run on Intel Pentium chip.

Back then, using Windows XP was such a huge privilege for me because I did not have my own personal computer.

The word "Meta" is a word i took from Meta, the big technology company behind Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and Threads. I think the word "Meta" is relevance in our daily life in 2026 all because we use digital products by Meta every day.

I personally use WhatsApp to contact my work colleagues and family members, I use Facebook to share latest info with my community to get personal entertainment contents, I also use Thread to get latest info and tricks share by other users.

So that is why I choose "Xp Meta" as URL name for this blog - which means experience daily technology usage in modern digital world.

Is Blogspot Is Still A Thing?

Google Blogger homepage

Is Blogspot Is Still A Thing In 2026? Yes. Some people still do blogging in personal leve. In fact, for me i still do blogging everyday but not for the commercial aspect of for the professional aspect. All because I love to write to tell stories about what happened around me in a Blogspot blog.

As a normal person and as a normal technology user I personally started blogging back on year 2006 while Blogspot platform was so popular. It was 20 years ago. I am now in 45 years of age.

Back then I was a web building enthusiast and love to build websites for fun. Back on year 2006 there a not so many web design technology available like today in 2026.

If you read my Blogspot profile, I started my Blogspot journey back on March 2007. I started this account because I forgot the password of my original Blogspot account.

Are Blogs Still Popular In 2026?

From my observation and findings, yes blogs are still popular in 2026 as an online tool to deliver information to other people publicly on the internet outside the social media realm.

According to online report publised by BlogHerald.com, they said "There are now over 600 million blogs worldwide representing approximately 31.6% of all 1.9 billion websites on the internet".

As in May 2026, people use social media such as TikTok video, Thread posts and Facebook posts to talk about something and to share stories from their own personal perspective but all of that are inside social media platfrom.

Modern search engine just like Google is now crawling social media contents such as short videos, texts, images, photos and illustration to deliver relevance answers to search engine users.

Why I Choose Blogspot Blog In 2026

You must be wondering why I choose to write a blog in Blogspot blog? Why not use more advanced blogging tool out ther such as WordPress?

All because Blogspot blog is 100 free for Google users like me. Blogspot blog is provided by Google and tied to Google ID which is basically your google Gmail address.

Blogspot blogging platform does not has subscription based features or hosting size limit just like WordPress.com which is the free blogging tool by WordPress organization.

For me, I love Blogspot because it is straight forward, no ads or any advertisement for the user telling them to upgrade their usage package and the interface is really simple.

Why People Do Blogging In 2026

In 2026, telling stories in a view in your Tik Tok is far more easier then typing words in a blog. New generation nowadays does not really now what a blog look like.

But, they know TikTok.com, YouTube and Facebook because they grew up with it.

For me, I am getting old with them all. I started using Twitter and Facebook in December 2007.
